If the work or words of others are used\, they must be properly cited or acknowledged. Any publications that have influenced the research should also be cited. \n\n\n\nPlagiarism\, in any form\, is strictly prohibited and includes: \n\n\n\n\nCopying or paraphrasing substantial parts of another’s work without citation.\n\n\n\nMisrepresenting research conducted by others as one’s own.\n\n\n\n\nSuch unethical practices are unacceptable and constitute a breach of publication ethics. \n\n\n\nAcknowledgements \n\n\n\nAuthors should: \n\n\n\n\nAppropriately acknowledge the contributions of others.\n\n\n\nCite publications that have significantly influenced the reported work.\n\n\n\nExplicitly state any financial support\, scholarships\, or economic assistance related to the research.\n\n\n\n\nAuthors must not use confidential information obtained through services such as manuscript refereeing or grant application reviews unless explicit\, written permission is granted by the original author(s). \n\n\n\n\nSubmission Guidelines\nEach contributor to the conference may appear as the sole author of up to two papers and as a co-author of two additional papers. The abstract must not exceed one page\, including references. \n\n\n\nObject of Study \n\n\n\nBegin with a brief description of the object of study or investigation\, providing the theoretical context. Clearly state your questions or hypotheses in simple terms\, avoiding overly technical language. In essence\, explain what you have done. \n\n\n\nMethodology \n\n\n\nSummarise the key aspects of your approach and methodology\, including details such as subjects\, materials\, research context\, or any essential components to help readers understand your work. In short\, describe how you conducted your research. \n\n\n\nResults \n\n\n\nPresent your results or findings succinctly\, especially in relation to your research questions or hypotheses. Avoid unnecessary details or extensive statistical data. Simply describe what you have found. \n\n\n\nConclusions \n\n\n\nDraw explicit conclusions from your results and connect them to the significance of your study. \n\n\n\nReferences \n\n\n\nIncluding references in abstract submissions is optional. If included\, references should be concise and relevant. Given the limited space\, it is preferable to focus on your own work rather than referencing the work of others. \n\n\n\n\nCommittees\nChairAntonis Botinis \n\n\n\nKeynote SpeakersVaclav Brezina\, Lancaster UniversityIngo Plag\, Heinrich-Heine- UniversityNikos Sifakis\, University of AthensJette Hansen Edwards\, The Chinese University of Hong Kong \n\n\n\nOrganising CommitteeChristina Alexandris\, University of AthensParis Binos\, Cyprus University of TechnologyIoannis Galantomos\, University of ThessalyAthina Kontostavlaki\, Univerity of AthensPhilippe Martin\, Linguistic SocietyKatie Pirsoaga\, Linguistic SocietyAnna Sfakianaki\, University of IoanninaSpyridoula Varlokosta\, University of Athens \n\n\n\nInternational Advisory CommitteeTed Gibson\, Massachusetts Institute of Technology\, USJonathan Harrington\, University of Munich\, GermanyHaris Themistocleous\, University of Oslo\, NorwayIrene Vogel\, University of Delaware\, USPetra Wagner\, Bielefeld University\, GermanyYi Xu\, University College London\, UK \n\n\n\n\nProgramme and Participation\nProgramme Overview \n\n\n\nThe Linguistics 2026 Athens programme offers both onsite and online participation options\, ensuring accessibility and engagement for all attendees. \n\n\n\nWednesday\, 22rd April 2026TBA \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThursday\, 23th April 2026TBA \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFriday\, 24th April 2026TBA \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOnsite activities include: \n\n\n\n\nOral Sessions: In-person presentations covering a wide range of topics.\n\n\n\nPoster Sessions: Interactive poster presentations fostering personal engagement and discussion.\n\n\n\n\nOnsite participants will have the opportunity to present their work during the morning oral and poster sessions. \n\n\n\nOnline participants can: \n\n\n\n\nAttend live streams of morning sessions\, including keynote lectures and oral presentations.\n\n\n\n\nThis hybrid programme format is designed to maximise knowledge sharing and interaction\, fostering a collaborative environment for all participants. \n\n\n\n\nConference Proceedings\nThe proceedings of the Linguistics 2026Athens conference will comprise 4-page papers.
