This Refund & Cancellation Policy applies to all registrations for conferences organised by The International Linguistic Society, trading name of The International Society of Experimental Linguistics (Company No. 489381, Sokratous 56, 155 62 Athens, Greece). By completing a registration, you agree to the following terms.
1. Cancellations by Participants
- At least 15 days before the event: Registrations may be cancelled with a refund, subject to a €50 administrative fee.
- Within 15 days of the event: Registrations are non-refundable due to logistical and operational constraints.
2. Late or Incorrect Registrations
- Registrations submitted after the official deadline or with incorrect payment amounts may be corrected, subject to a €50 administrative fee.
- Failure to correct errors in time may result in exclusion from the programme.
3. Non-Refundable Fees
- Once a paper has been accepted and included in the official programme, the associated registration fee is non-refundable, regardless of attendance.
4. Substitutions
- A registered participant who cannot attend may nominate a substitute delegate at no additional cost.
- Notification must be provided in writing to contact@linguistic-society.com before the event begins.
5. Organiser Cancellations
- If the event is cancelled or postponed by the organisers, participants will be offered either a full refund or the option to transfer their registration to a future event.
6. Refund Requests and Processing
- Submission: Requests must be made in writing to contact@linguistic-society.com and must include registration details, proof of payment, and the reason for cancellation.
- Processing time: Refunds will be processed within 21 business days of receiving a valid request. Participants will be notified once approved.
- Refund method: Refunds are issued via the same payment method used for registration. Fees charged by payment providers are non-refundable.
7. Important Notes
- This policy applies equally to onsite and online participation.
- The €50 administrative fee is non-negotiable and applies to all eligible cancellations.
