Proceedings Published: Phonetics 2025 Hong Kong

The International Linguistic Society is pleased to announce the publication of the official proceedings of Phonetics 2025 Hong Kong, the 16th International Conference on Phonetic Research and Applications.

Held in Hong Kong from 17–19 September 2025, the conference brought together leading scholars, experienced researchers, and early-career academics to explore current developments in phonetic theory, experimental research, speech perception, sociophonetics, multilingualism, speech technology, language education, and interdisciplinary applications of phonetics.

Published as part of The Linguistic Proceedings Series (Year 2025, Volume 16, Issue 1), this volume reflects the increasingly international and interdisciplinary direction of contemporary phonetics research.

The proceedings feature contributions from researchers representing universities and institutions across Asia, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Australia, highlighting the global and collaborative nature of the conference. The volume includes both theoretical and applied research, with papers addressing contemporary challenges and developments in phonetic and linguistic research, speech analysis, language technology, multilingual communication, and phonetics in educational and social contexts.
