We are pleased to announce that the programme for the DELAD Special Session on Language Disorder Corpora is now available.
Organised in collaboration with DELAD (Database Enterprise for Language and Speech Disorders) and CLARIN (Common Language Resources and Technology Infrastructure), this special session forms part of Language Disorders 2026 Online and will take place on 26 August 2026. The programme features a keynote presentation, an introduction to the DELAD initiative, a series of peer-reviewed research presentations, and a panel-led discussion exploring the future of language disorder corpora and language resources.

- Welcome and Introduction to DELAD and the workshop.
- Keynote Presentation
- Language and Speech Disorders Corpora as Necessary Infrastructure for Health Tech Accessibility – Íris Nowenstein
- Research presentations covering:
- An accurate transcription service for Belgian Dutch.
- Overcoming data scarcity in the MediSpeech project.
- Phonological inconsistency in typically developing and phonologically disordered bidialectal Cypriot-Greek speaking children.
- Handling multimodal clinical speech data.
- Mental illness and the legal concept of authorship.
- Panel-led discussion with experts from DELAD and CLARIN, bringing together keynote speakers, presenters, and organisers to discuss current challenges and future directions in language disorder corpora.

The DELAD workshop is one of several specialist sessions taking place during Language Disorders 2026 Online, an international conference dedicated to advancing research and applications in language and speech disorders.

Abstract Submission Still Open
Researchers are still invited to submit abstracts to the main conference. We welcome innovative research spanning all areas of language disorders, speech disorders, clinical linguistics, neurolinguistics, assessment, intervention, assistive technologies, and related disciplines.
Attend as an Audience Member
If you would like to observe the conference without presenting, you can register as an Audience Member. This registration provides access to all conference sessions, including the DELAD Special Session. Audience members attend the conference as observers and do not present papers, submit abstracts, or take on speaker or chair roles.
