We are delighted to announce that Professor Yi Xu will be joining us as a keynote speaker at Phonetics 2025 Hong Kong, taking place from 17th to 19th September 2025 at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University’s West Kowloon Campus.

Professor Xu is a leading voice in speech sciences and is well known for his extensive work on how humans produce and perceive speech. His research has shed light on the complex relationship between prosody, tone, and intonation, and how these elements function across different languages.

Currently based at University College London, Professor Xu has dedicated his career to developing influential models of speech production and perception. His work stands at the intersection of theoretical linguistics and real-world application, offering insights that are as relevant to speech technology as they are to academic research.

We’re excited to welcome Professor Xu to the conference, where he’ll be sharing his latest findings and engaging with researchers from around the world. His keynote will no doubt be a highlight of the event.

Keep an eye out as we continue to reveal more of the brilliant minds speaking at Phonetics 2025 Hong Kong.
