
We’re thrilled to announce Professor Emma Marsden as a keynote speaker for the 17th International Conference on Linguistic Research and Applications (Linguistics 2026 Paris)!
Emma Marsden is Professor of Second Language Education at the University of York, England. Her research focuses on second language learning, processing, teaching, and testing. Drawing on her early career as a French, Spanish, and English teacher, she has co-authored over 80 peer-reviewed publications and the influential book Second Language Learning Theories (with Ros Mitchell and Florence Myles).
Professor Marsden has served as Associate Editor and Journal Editor for Language Learning (2015–2022) and co-directs several international open scholarship initiatives, including IRIS, OASIS, MultilingProfiler, and Language-Driven Pedagogy. From 2018 to 2023, she directed the National Centre for Excellence for Language Pedagogy, funded by the UK Department for Education.
