Vaclav Brezina – Lancaster University
We are pleased to announce Vaclav Brezina as a keynote speaker for Linguistics 2026 Athens.
Professor Brezina is a leading scholar in corpus linguistics, specialising in the development and application of large-scale language datasets to investigate real-world language use. His work ranges from corpus design, quantitative methods, lexical analysis, learner language, and sociolinguistic variation, through to innovative methodological tools for linguistic research. At Lancaster, he has played a central role in several major research initiatives, including the expansion of corpora designed for educational, professional, and academic contexts.
His publications and collaborations consistently advance empirical approaches to language, offering insights with both theoretical and pedagogical relevance. We are honoured to welcome him to Athens and look forward to the depth and clarity his keynote will bring to the field.
