We are honoured to welcome Nikos Sifakis as a keynote speaker for Linguistics 2026 Athens.

Professor Sifakis is one of the leading voices in English as a Lingua Franca (ELF), teacher education, and the pedagogy of English in international and multilingual contexts. His work examines how English is used across diverse linguistic environments and how educators can better prepare learners for global communication. He has contributed extensively to ESP (English for Specific Purposes), EIL (English as an International Language), curriculum design, and professional development for language teachers.

His research is widely cited and has played a significant role in reframing the role of English in contemporary global settings. We are especially pleased to have him joining us in Athens, where his keynote will offer valuable perspectives on the future of English-language pedagogy and intercultural communication.
