Keynote Announcement: Monica Melby-Lervåg – Linguistics 2026 Paris

We are pleased to announce that Monica Melby-Lervåg (University of Oslo) will deliver a keynote lecture at Linguistics 2026 Paris.

Professor Melby-Lervåg’s research lies at the intersection of psycholinguistics, literacy development, and cognitive science, with a particular focus on how language and reading skills are acquired and how individual differences shape learning outcomes. Her work explores the cognitive mechanisms underpinning language processing, as well as learning difficulties such as dyslexia and language impairments.

Her research combines experimental methods, longitudinal studies, and evidence-based approaches to investigate language and literacy development across populations. Through this work, she contributes to both theoretical understanding and practical applications in education and language sciences, offering an interdisciplinary perspective on how language is processed, learned, and supported in diverse contexts.

Linguistics 2026 Paris

The International Linguistic Society invites submissions for the 17th International Conference on Linguistic Research and Applications – Linguistics 2026 Paris, taking place 28–30 October 2026 as a hybrid event in Paris, France.

The conference aims to advance key areas of contemporary linguistics and explore innovative approaches to linguistic research and applications. It provides a platform for collaboration and dialogue between established researchers, research groups, and emerging scholars, fostering an environment of knowledge exchange and interdisciplinary engagement.

We welcome contributions across a wide range of topics, including:

  • Core linguistics: phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, pragmatics, text analysis
  • Interdisciplinary linguistics: psycholinguistics, neurolinguistics, sociolinguistics, computational linguistics
  • Applied linguistics: language education, language pathology, language technology
  • AI in linguistics: applications that enhance linguistic research, communication systems, and accessibility

The conference will feature keynote lectures by leading scholars, oral and poster presentations, and both in-person and virtual participation. Accepted abstracts will be published as expanded 4-page papers in the Linguistic Proceedings Series.
