Introducing the Linguistic Proceedings Library

Introducing the Linguistic Proceedings Library

We are delighted to announce the soft launch of the Linguistic Proceedings Library, a new open-access platform dedicated to preserving, publishing, and promoting linguistic research from conferences organised by The International Linguistic Society.

The library currently contains proceedings volumes and research papers dating back to 2006, creating a growing archive of linguistic scholarship spanning multiple conferences, disciplines, and areas of research.

Our vision is simple:

To make linguistic research as accessible, discoverable, and connected as possible.

Built using the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform, the Linguistic Proceedings Library provides a modern publishing environment designed to support researchers, authors, and readers alike.

Current Features

The Linguistic Proceedings Library currently offers:

  • DOI registration through Crossref for permanent citation and referencing
  • Open-access publication, freely available worldwide
  • Dedicated article pages for every published paper
  • Citation linking through Crossref metadata
  • Structured metadata designed to improve discoverability
  • Long-term digital preservation
  • A growing archive of linguistic research dating back to 2006

This launch represents the first stage of a broader publishing initiative focused on improving the accessibility, visibility, and preservation of linguistic research.

Looking Ahead

As the library continues to develop, we are exploring additional services and integrations designed to further support researchers and increase the visibility of published work, including:

  • ORCID integration and author identification services
  • Expanded indexing and discovery opportunities
  • ISBN assignment for proceedings volumes
  • Enhanced citation tracking and reference linking
  • Improved interoperability with scholarly databases and repositories
  • Greater visibility across academic platforms, including Google Scholar, ResearchGate, institutional repositories, and other research discovery services

Our Vision

Our long-term goal is to create an interconnected scholarly ecosystem where conferences, proceedings, publications, authors, citations, and research outputs work together to maximise the visibility, accessibility, discoverability, and impact of linguistic research.

By bringing together conference management, proceedings publication, persistent identifiers, metadata, and future researcher services within a single ecosystem, we aim to provide a platform that supports linguistic research throughout its entire publication lifecycle.
