Proceedings Published: Linguistics 2025 Paris

The International Linguistic Society is pleased to announce the publication of the official proceedings of Linguistics 2025 Paris, the 16th International Conference on Linguistic Research and Applications.

Held in Paris, France, from 22–24 October 2025, the conference brought together researchers, academics, and professionals from around the world to explore current developments across theoretical, applied, interdisciplinary, and experimental linguistics. The conference also highlighted the growing role of artificial intelligence and emerging technologies in advancing linguistic research, communication, and language education.

Hosted at the Maison de la recherche, INALCO, a historic centre of excellence in the heart of Paris, the conference reflected a shared commitment to linguistic diversity, international collaboration, and interdisciplinary research.

Published as part of The Linguistic Proceedings Series (Year 2025, Volume 16, Issue 2), this volume reflects the increasingly international and interdisciplinary direction of contemporary linguistic research.

The proceedings feature contributions from researchers representing universities and institutions across Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and the Americas. The volume includes both theoretical and applied studies addressing current developments in syntax, morphology, phonology, sociolinguistics, multilingualism, corpus linguistics, language acquisition, language education, discourse analysis, artificial intelligence applications, and interdisciplinary linguistic research.

The programme featured keynote lectures from:

  • Ad NeelemanNoun Phrase Order: Grammar, Parser and Typological Frequency
  • Greville G. CorbettUnpacking nominal classification: a new perspective on gender and classifiers
