The International Linguistic Society is pleased to announce that the abstract submission deadline for Language Disorders 2026 Online: International Thematic Conference on Language Disorders Research and Applications has been extended to 1 July 2026.
The conference will take place online from 26-28 August 2026 and will bring together researchers, clinicians, research groups, and emerging scholars working across the broad field of language and speech disorders.
Language Disorders 2026 Online aims to provide an international platform for the presentation and discussion of innovative research, clinical applications, emerging technologies, and interdisciplinary approaches to understanding, assessing, and supporting language disorders across diverse populations and languages.

Special Session: Language Disorder Corpora
Language Disorders 2026 will feature a special session on Language Disorder Corpora, organised in collaboration with DELAD (Database Enterprise for Language and Speech Disorders) and supported by CLARIN.
The session will include a keynote lecture, panel discussion, and presentations focusing on the FAIR sharing, management, and application of language and speech disorder corpora in research and clinical practice. Audience participation in the special session will be complimentary.

Proceedings Publication
Accepted abstracts will be invited to submit expanded 4-page conference papers for publication in the Linguistic Proceedings Series.

Researchers, clinicians, speech-language pathologists, corpus linguists, cognitive scientists, neuroscientists, and research groups working in language disorders and related disciplines are warmly invited to submit a one-page abstract for consideration.
How to Submit
Authors wishing to present at Language Disorders 2026 Online should submit a one-page abstract in English through the conference submission system.
Submission Guidelines
- Abstracts should be approximately 500 words (one page).
- Submissions should clearly state the research aims, methodology, results (where applicable), and conclusions.
- References and graphics are generally not required.
- All submissions undergo peer review by the conference committee.
Special Session Submissions
Authors wishing to present in the DELAD Special Session: Language Disorder Corpora should submit through the standard conference submission system and select the topic:
“DELAD Special Session: Language Disorder Corpora”.
Submission Deadline: 1 July 2026
Accepted abstracts will be eligible for presentation at the conference and invited submission of an expanded 4-page proceedings paper for publication in the Linguistic Proceedings Series.
